Yvonne Josephine Roe (nee Rump), a devoted community leader, successful professional,
and cherished family matriarch, passed away peacefully on May 7, 2026, in Wentzville,
Missouri. She was 91 years old.
Born on January 12, 1935, in Hutchinson, Kansas, Yvonne was the daughter of the late
Ernest J. Rump and Alma (Mattson) Rump. Throughout her life, she was defined by her
unwavering faith and her commitment to the growth and well-being of her community.
Yvonne was a well known figure in St. Charles County, Missouri, where she established a
successful career as a Real Estate Broker Her dedication to public service was evident
through her tenure on the Board of Aldermen for Lake Saint Louis and her work as a
member of the Industrial Development Authority of St. Charles County.
Yvonne was a founding member of the Living Lord Lutheran Church and its congregation in
Lake Saint Louis. Her faith called her to service far beyond her local borders; from 1995 to
2004, she served as a volunteer Missionary in Panama and Oaxaca, Mexico for the
Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, representing her home church with grace and
devotion.
She had a beautiful voice and was a member of the Choral Arts Society that perfomed in
Taiwan. She co-founded the Astronomical Society of Eastern Missouri which serves the
entire population with wholesome and fun experiences under the night sky.
Yvonne was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Leon Rump, and her sister, Ardene
(Rump) Swenson.
Her legacy of love lives on through her family. She is survived by her beloved husband, James
M. Roe, and her sister, Carol (Rump) Anderson. She was the proud mother of four children:
sons Paul D. Peterson and Thomas D. Peterson, and daughters Kimberly Sue Peterson and
Elizabeth J. (Peterson) Richardson. Her joy was further multiplied by her nine grandchildren
and four great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and
grandnephews.
Yvonne’s life was one of purpose, service, and deep connection to those around her. She will
be missed but never forgotten.
A Celebration of Life will be held in her honor to commemorate a life beautifully lived at Living
Lord Lutheran Church,500 Cedar Circle Dr, Lake Saint Louis, MO on Saturday, May 30, 2026
