In Loving Memory of Todd Michael Lyon
Todd Michael Lyon was born into eternal life on April 29, 2026, after a life marked by love, connection, and meaningful relationships. He was born on June 9, 1972, and while his earthly journey has ended, his spirit now lives on in peace and light, carried forward in the hearts of those who loved him.
Todd was preceded in death by his parents, Merritt Donald Lyon and Victoria Marie Lyon, and his brother, Merritt Robert Lyon, all of whom welcomed him home with open arms.
He leaves behind his greatest pride and joy—his daughters, Addison Elizabeth Lyon and Brytn Krill Lyon, who were the center of his world and the reason behind so many of his smiles and dreams.
He also leaves behind his fiancée, Buffy Ingold, and her children Sierra (Jacob) Thoenen, proud parents of grandbaby Brooks Alexander; Alyse (Tony) Follmer; and Austin Cundiff. Together, they shared a life filled with love, laughter, and the comfort of family.
Todd is lovingly remembered by his siblings: Jori Lyon; Melanie (John) Gee; Brigitte (Michael) Schimming; Natalie (Justin) Battershield; Rachel (Edward) Iacono; and Daniel (Raime) Lyon. He was a proud and devoted uncle to his nieces and nephews Bella, Keira, Gabby, Owen, Kellen, Landi, Gigi, and Vandar, each of whom held a special place in his heart. The bonds Todd shared with his family will continue through cherished memories, shared stories, and enduring love.
Todd found joy in the simple and meaningful moments of life. He was known for his big bear hugs and his boisterous, contagious laugh. He loved taking on DIY projects, building and creating with his hands as a skilled craftsman who took pride in fine work and thoughtful details. Many mornings began with coffee on the patio with Buffy, and many evenings were spent talking about nothing and everything with the people he loved most. He had a natural way of connecting with people and a genuine desire to help others, always willing to lend a hand.
A constant thread throughout Todd’s life was his deep love for the volleyball community, where he spent 30 years coaching, teaching lessons, and mentoring young athletes. Coaching his daughters was one of his greatest joys, and through the sport he influenced countless lives—on and off the court.
He also loved cooking, enjoying a well-made Old Fashioned, and was rarely without one of his favorite hats, each as memorable and distinctive as Todd himself.
Though grief marks his absence, faith reminds us that Todd’s life is not ended, but changed. His legacy lives on through the love he gave, the hands he helped, and the many lives he touched.
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." -Jeremiah 29:11
