Theresa Dykes

June 10, 1956 — April 15, 2025

Foley, Missouri

Theresa “Terri” Beth Dykes (nee Baker) passed away peacefully and surrounded by family on April 15, 2025. She is survived by her husband of almost 47 years, John, her children Meredith (Ed), Michael (Christie), Melissa, and Mark and her grandchildren Amelia and Jonathan. She is also survived by her mother, Maxine, and her siblings Denny, Judi, David (Judy), and Steve, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Terri was born in El Dorado, Arkansas in 1956. After graduating high school, she attended Harding University where she met and married John in 1978 and earned her degree in Elementary Education, fulfilling her dream of becoming a teacher. After several years teaching elementary school in Springdale, Arkansas she left her job to fulfill her biggest dream of becoming a mom. Terri dedicated her life to God. We all know God met her at the gates and said, “Well done my good and faithful servant.” She loved being with people, and she never met a stranger. Whether it was her Bible Study Fellowship sisters, her church friends, her family, or some friendly face in the grocery store checkout line, it was people – meeting them, talking to them, sharing fellowship with them - that restored her spirit. Terri was a giving, loving, and endlessly kind soul and she is missed beyond measure. We’ll see you again someday, Mom. Until then, remember: precious cargo. WWALY. A memorial will be held for Terri this summer. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Samaritan's Purse or your favorite local charity in her name. Terri’s family wishes to thank the wonderful SSM Hospice Team for their loving care during her final days.
