Sally Jane Moser (nee Duncan), passed away peacefully on February 9, 2026 after a devastatingly short battle with pancreatic cancer. She was the beloved wife of the late Bill Moser; devoted mother to Sherilynn (John) Phegley, Brian (Emily) Miesner and Amy (Mike) Kraft; loving sister to Beverly (the late Lindell) Robinson, Don (Pat) Duncan, Linda (the late John) Hart, and Vickie (Vince) Pillar; adored grandmother of Nicki, Ashley, Haeleigh, Malcom, Kristen, Grayce, Madalyn, Taylor, Allison, Avery, Elsa and Alex; beloved great-grandmother to Gavin.
She is preceded in death by her husband Bill Moser; parents William and Arline Duncan and brother William Duncan, Jr.
Sally was born in St. Louis and was a graduate of Roosevelt High School in 1976. She was married and divorced twice before she met and married the love of her life, Bill Moser, in 2006. They were married until his death in 2019. Sally and Bill created a life in Galena, Missouri where they lived for nearly twenty years. While living at the lake, Sally enjoyed volunteering for veteran’s events and organizations and was an active member of the Elks. Sally was a kind woman with a big heart and no matter her own personal struggles, she would still do her best to help someone in need. She was a devoted mother and former Girl Scout leader and was adored by her grandchildren who affectionately called her “Grandma Lake”. Sometimes she was also referred to as “Gangsta Grandma” because, although she was extremely kind hearted, she would fight like a ferocious mama bear if any of her children or grandchildren were threatened in any way. She lived by the philosophy to always be kind, but take no flack. Sally was the creator of “the grandma shake”, a dance she would do for and with her grandchildren. Before moving to the Lake, she and Bill were regulars at Dulany’s Grille and Pub in South County where they had many friends and would spend lots of time.
There will be a Celebration of Life on Saturday, February 21 at Crestwood Elks Lodge #2503, 10261 Bauer Road, St. Louis, Missouri 63128 from 2:00 pm - 5:30 pm with an informal service beginning at 3:00 pm. The family requests no flower deliveries to the Elks Lodge. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Sally J. Moser to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (http://support.pancan.org/goto/sally_moser).
