Peter Michael Ziegenfuss passed away at home on January 9, 2023. He was 72 years old.
Pete, a U.S Air Force veteran, was an experienced hunter and fisherman. His love for the outdoors and nature was almost as strong as his love for his family and friends. Pete worked in the kitchen and bath cabinet industry for many years prior to having a stroke just over 11 years ago.
With his outgoing personality, Pete loved to make people laugh. He was always quick with a joke and was often the “life of the party”. It is comforting to all who knew him that he is now at peace and has, no doubt, already found an awesome fishing hole in heaven. Although he will be missed tremendously, our memories of him will last forever.
Pete is survived by his wife Elisabeth “Lis” Ziegenfuss (nee Adams); his daughter Michele (Michael) Wolfe; his grandchildren Zachary and Ashley; his great grandchild Christina; his brothers in law Don, Steve (Cheryl Young) and Chris (Annie) Adams; his sister in law Beatrice Ziegenfuss (nee Biggerstaff) and his many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Ralph and Placide (nee Fitzroy), his brothers David and Philip; his grandson Nicholas and his brother in law Ken Adams.
A memorial service/celebration of his life will be held in the near future.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Normandy High School scholarship fund or the Missouri Department of Conservation.
