Opal Loretta Eaker of Wentzville, MO passed away in her home on Wednesday, September 2, 2020, at the age of 78.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2020, at 1 PM at the First Assembly Church, 4750 N Service Rd, St Peters, MO 63376 where Opal was a member.
Opal was born June 25, 1942 in Zalma, MO, the daughter of Maurice Clifton Proffer and Ruth Ellen Eaker. She married Jacob Webster Eaker (surviving) on December 22, 1963 and the couple served in Christian ministry and pastored churches throughout southeast Missouri, southern Indiana, and southern Illinois before returning to Cape Girardeau and then retiring in Wentzville, MO.
In addition to her husband, Webster, Opal is survived by their children Ruth (Sherry) Eaker, Shawn (Alia) Eaker, and Brian Eaker, five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, sister Ada Proffer and stepbrother Charles Rhodes.
Opal was preceded in death by her father and mother; stepfather Milas Rhodes; brothers Clifton Proffer, Odis Proffer, Everett Proffer, Wilborn Proffer, and Luther Rhodes; stepbrother Buford Rhodes; and sisters Ruby Umfleet and Kathleen Osborn
