Mildred A. Kent

d. May 20, 2020

Kent, Mille Aileen Mason, passed away peacefully in her Webster Groves MO home at the age of 94, May 20, 2020 surrounded by her loving family.   Born in Jacksonville Illinois August 19th, 1925, beloved wife 75 years of 1st LT Henry Warrington Kent, dear mother of Constance Hovis, Catherine Shreves, William Kevin (Lisa) Kent, Karen (Kurt) Waller.

Preceded in death by her loving husband, Henry Warrington, her parents, Henry Lee and Edith Mason, brothers Homer and Harlan Mason.  Proud grandmother of 20 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.   Survived by brother, John Reginald Mason of Jacksonville, Illinois and many nieces and nephews.

Mille celebrated her life, a faithful servant of the lord, love for her sweets (husband Henry Warrington), her family and her gift to play any song, in any key at any time on the piano.   She shared her gift of playing teaching lessons for over 70 years and entertaining for over 80 years in the USO, nursing homes, church, holiday parties and funeral services.   The one question she taught her family how to conduct themselves was ‘What would Jesus do?’   She was always masterminding her beloved Jacksonville HS ‘all-class’ reunions from central Illinois to across the country in Bakersfield CA.  She and her ‘sweets’ enjoyed retirement with homes in Manchester IL, Southern CA and their primary family home in Webster Groves, MO.   With minimal separations from her beloved Warrington as she refused to fly, she commuted by Amtrak train for 26 years to and from MO to CA, where he would catch a flight 3 days later to arrive together.   They enjoyed lifelong friends and creating new ones on the west coast.   Eloquently put, her life a beautiful song, a Rhapsody if you will, free spirited & full of spontaneous inspiration for whom all she met.  While your song has ended on earth, the music will live on eternally in all you have touched.  Our savior has prepared a mansion for you, we know you are praising him with a glorious tune.   Save us a seat at GOD ALMIGHTYS table Momma, we will see you soon.

Private burial for immediate family at Jefferson Barracks with services to be determined.   Services will be conducted at Webster Groves Presbyterian Church, W.45 Lockwood Blvd.  In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or music program of your choice.

Loving grandmother of David (Kristi) Price, Michael (Becky) Price, Amy (Charlie) Shreves, Kimberly (David) Fruits, Timothy(Lulu) Shreves, Morgan Feeney, Caitlyn Feeney, Justin (Denise) Kent, Jessica Kent, Jennifer (Luke) Lewis, Cassie (Tim) Packard, Casey (Torri) Kent, Kevin Lee (Aricka) Kent, Katie Kent, Kellie Kent, Clark Kent, Katrina Kent, Nicholas (Lauren) Waller , Jordan Waller, and Henry Luce.  Proud Great Grandmother of Noelle (Stephen) Stanley, Brent (Nancy) Price, Katelyn Kent, Carly and Mason Fruits, Ethan Kent, Isabella & Malachi Lewis, Liam, and Hailey Kent.
