Mary Catherine Raymond

Early in the evening of Thursday, 24th August 2023, Mary Catherine (Carrigan) Raymond, aged 88, left her earthly home in the presence of family members.  Mary was born to Lottie Vandally Gribble and Fred Carrigan, on 14th July, 1935. 
 
Mary was a homemaker and a very talented quilter.  She made many quilts for her loved ones that will forever be cherished.  She enjoyed other crafting activities, such as making handmade Christmas ornaments, wreaths and stockings. She also enjoyed growing African Violets and miniature roses among many other plants.  Her fried chicken and her biscuits and gravy couldn’t be beat by anyone.  
 
She is survived by three daughters, Katherine Elizabeth Talkington (Royce) of Norman OK., Victoria Lynn Allen of Bernie, MO., Julianna Danielle Dodge (Edward) of Ankeny, IA.: six sons, Mark Anthony Carter of Ocklawaha, FL., Matthew R.L. Raymond (Patty) of Sikeston, MO., Luke Apollo Raymond of Glen Bernie, MD., Daniel Paul Raymond (Brandie) of Durant, OK, John Adam Roberson (Yra) of Los Angeles, CA and Joshua R.L. Raymond of Risco, MO.; and 24 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.  (We likely have lost count on the grands and greats as Mom always said “blood doesn’t make a family, love does”) Mom would love a little humor in this. 
 
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer R.L. Raymond. Parents; Lottie Vandally Gribble and Fred Carrigan and siblings; Paul Carrigan, Lois Carrigan, Pauline Murphy, Jimmy Dale Hunt, and Claud Hunt Jr. 
 
The family will receive friends at 10am Friday 1st of September, 2023 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints 827 Euclid Dr. Sikeston, MO.  With a memorial services at 11am.  Graveside services will follow at the Memorial Park Cemetery in Sikeston.
