MARK SCOTT BRILL
Mark Scott Brill 72, passed away peacefully at his home on July 12, 2025, in Lake St. Louis, MO. He was born in San Bernardino, CA to Marvin Lee Brill and Joan Anita Scott. Mark had a thirst for knowledge and was often found with his nose in a book. He became highly educated in the field of International Business as a Sr. Project Manager for Information Technology. This field allowed him the opportunity to travel the world, which delighted him greatly as he enjoyed working with people of all cultures. Mark was known for his high intellectual mind and his love for people around him. He had a keen ability to talk to anyone, as he made them feel comfortable with his style of conversation. Mark found great joy in humanity.
Mark was a spiritual giant. As a young man, he served a LDS mission in Argentina. He was fluent in Spanish and loved the people there. He later served his community and held many callings within the church. Mark was always resilient during adversity and a rock for all to learn from. Mark’s faith never waivered, even throughout his illness. He was a gentle, kind and loving soul, who has left a great and profound legacy.
Mark enjoyed many hobbies. He was an avid snow skier, fly fisherman, and voracious reader. He had remarkable wit. He was a master of trivia and was a pun-meister, perfecting the telling of Dad jokes.
Mark is survived by his beloved wife Gail, who cherished her life with him. He is also survived by his step mother Doris Brill, his siblings Susan L. Brill-Lehn (Gary), Sally A. Brill, Lance Brill (Cheryl) and Rena Beck (Paul), his sister in law Donna Shoemaker and brother in law Steven Rountree (Kathy). Mark is survived by his three children, Kara Brill, Trevor Brill (Nicole) and Robert Brill (Christina) as well as his three step sons, David Sachak (Brooke), Tommy Sachak and Kyle Sachak (Taran). Mark loved his 16 grandchildren and one great grandson, with another great grandson on the way.
A private memorial will be held in his honor in Breckenridge, CO., at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please perform a random act of kindness to make someone’s burden lighter. That is how Mark lived his life.
