It is hard to turn the page when you know someone will not be in the next chapter, but the story must go on. In the end, it's not the years in your life that count. It's the life in your years.
Lorraine Brooks was born to the union of Fred and Beatrice Brooks on January 22, 1930, in St. Louis, mo. She transitioned to her maker on April 24, 2022. You did your best and God did the rest. She will join her parents; son, Mellville T. Forrest; brothers, Arnold Brown and Fred Brooks. Also, her husbands, Melvin C. Forrest and Frederick Lewis.
She received her formal education at O'Fallon Technical School of Practical Nursing. She worked as a Practical Nurse at Homer G. Phillips Hospital, City Hospital and Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Mo. Her favorite nursing job was private duty nursing due her hands on nursing skills. She loved to read. She read The World Almanac like most people read a novel. Also, she enjoyed reading The Journal of American Medical Association (JAMA). Reading was her passion.
She leaves to cherish her memory: daughter, Sandra Gail Forrest; granddaughter, Raven Rhiannon Forrest; great-grandsons, Josiah E. Wiley and Noah W. Forrest Smith. Also, a host of family members and friends.
