Leslee Margherio

d. September 8, 2020

On Tuesday, September 8, 2020, Leslee Margherio (née Morris), loving wife and mother of two children, passed away peacefully at home in St. Louis, surrounded by her family. She was 70 years old.

Leslee was born on October 9, 1949, in Great Lakes, Illinois, and moved to St. Louis at a young age. She attended high school at Whitfield School and college at Drake University in Iowa. On February 14, 1976, Leslee married her life partner, Ken Margherio, and raised their children, Kris and Lindsay, in Creve Coeur.

Leslee loved her friends and family deeply and devoted much of her life to bringing joy and happiness to others through her caring nature, eternal optimism, and sense of humor. Leslee also found time to serve her community through various not-for-profit organizations supporting education, youth sports, and wildlife rescue and while working with friends in the retail clothing industry. She also enjoyed reading, watching movies with her family, and avoiding anything having to do with cooking.

Leslee was preceded in death by her father, Lester (USN(R)), and her mother, Jacqueline. She is survived by her husband, Ken, her son, Kris (and his wife, Whitney), her daughter, Lindsay Franke (and her husband, Travis), and five grandchildren, Madison, Tyler, Thomas, Charlotte, and Griffin, whom she adored.

Memorial service arrangements have not been determined at this time, given COVID-19 health and safety restrictions. In line with Leslee’s wishes, the family has requested donations in lieu of flowers to the Missouri Wildlife Rescue Center at https://www.mowildlife.org. or St. Anselm Parish at https://www.stanselmstl.org/s/giving-opportunities
