Kesar Kumari Prasad

Kesar Kumari Prasad passed away peacefully on January 1, 2021 in Town and Country, MO at the age of 75.

Kesar was born on October 10, 1945 in Votualevu, Nadi, Fiji Islands to Shiv and Lakhpat Prasad. She married Ganga Prasad on November 23, 1968 and they moved their family to the United States in 1984, raising three children, Reshmi, Ameet and Ranjani.

Kesar built a career as a hotel inspectress, working in various hotels across St. Louis, MO until she retired at the age of 70. She was well known and loved by her co-workers and her friends. Her bright smile and sense of humor will be missed by many.

Outside of work, Kesar spent all her time with her family and spoiling her grandsons. Kesar’s six grandsons were her pride and joy – Sameer and Rehaan Butt, Aidan Prasad, Devin, Derik and Darin Kiefer. She was the most amazing wife, mom, Aaji / Nani, sister, and aunt. Kesar’s family will miss her dearly.

Kesar is survived by her spouse Ganga, her three children, Reshmi (Kabir) Butt, Ameet (Mollie) Prasad, Ranjani (Chris) Kiefer, her six grandsons, and 3 remaining siblings – Kris (Connie) Prasad, Ramesh (Kala) Prasad, and Madhu (Jai) Karan.

A small service for her immediate family will be held at the Baue Care & Cremation Center; her viewing must be kept small due to COVID-19 restrictions. Please send your condolences instead via donation to the Alzheimer’s Association or to Pathways Hospice as a thank you for their support and caring of Kesar in her final days.
