Kathryn Stiller

Kathryn Stiller (nee Hastings) died at home Friday March 22, 2019 peacefully with her family in attendance at the age of 87. She was born in Evanston, Illinois to the late Dwight and Carolyn Hastings. She was married to the late Milton Stiller on December 27, 1952. She is survived by three sons and two daughters, Mark (Judy) Stiller of Ellisville, Paul (Linda) Stiller of Solon, Ohio, David Stiller of Queensbury, New York, Terri (Eric) Jackson of Manchester, MO and Tracy (Jon) Marak of Manchester: brother Eugene Hastings of Aurora, Colorado, twelve grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Milton Stiller, a brother Donn, a daughter Carolyn and a son John.

Mrs. Stiller earned a Nursing degree and RN certification at the University of Iowa in 1953. She applied that training as a mother and designated nurse of the neighborhood. Her life was dedicated to her family serving in whatever role was required, Den Mother, Room Mother, Sunday School Teacher, Piano teacher, Psychologist and most of all encourager. She described herself most often as a cock-eyed optimist which is how she lived her life always looking for the positive in everything.

Memorial Service at Manchester United Methodist Church Chapel 129 Woods Mill Rd Manchester, MO., Tuesday March 26 at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers the family suggests a gift to Memory Care Home Solutions 4389 West Pine St. Louis MO 63108.
