Karen J. Wollenberger, 86, of St.Charles, MO, passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, on July 27, 2025. Beloved mother, aunt, cousin and friend. She was a shining light in all of our lives, and her warmth and love will be profoundly missed.
Born on May 16th, 1939, in St. Louis County, Karen was a woman of great spirit, known for her infectious laughter and unwavering kindness. She devoted her life to her daughter, always putting the needs of others before her own. As a mother, sister, and friend, she was a source of support and love, always ready with a comforting word or a helping hand.
Karen’s greatest joys came from her family. As a mother, she nurtured and encouraged her daughter, Vikki, in everything she pursued, teaching her the values of compassion, perseverance, and integrity.
In addition to her role as a caregiver and role model, Karen was passionate about playing softball, bowling, working as a bus driver for children and enjoying her cats.
Karen is survived by her daughter Vikki Stubbs, sister, Peggy Hoeft, sister-in-law, Virginia Christensen, nieces, nephews and many friends. We will carry her legacy of love and kindness forward. She is preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Oma Christensen, sisters, Edith Miller, Beverly Nance, brothers John Christensen and Carl Christensen.
A celebration of Karen’s life will be held at a date to be determined in the future, where we will share stories, laughter, and the many ways she touched our lives. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in her memory.
Though our hearts ache with the loss of this remarkable woman, we take comfort in knowing that her spirit lives on in the love she shared and the memories we hold dear. Rest in peace, Mom. You will be forever missed and eternally loved.
