Janice M. Clarkin

Janice M. (Jan) Clarkin, age 86, passed away on February 15, 2023 after a short battle with metastatic lung cancer.

Jan was born in Oil City, Pa. She received her RN degree from the University of Pittsburg School of Nursing and thereafter she served a long and rewarding career as a Registered Nurse working in labor and delivery.

Jan was married to E. Thomas (Tom) Clarkin for over fifty (50) years. She was an avid reader, she enjoyed playing golf and cards, and working puzzles of all kinds, particularly crossword and jigsaw puzzles. Jan was very generous with her time whether it was volunteering to help fill sand bags during the great flood or her years of volunteer work with the Assistance League of St.Louis.

Jan is survived by her husband Tom, and her children: Jeff (Ellen) Alcott, Judy Smith, Jenny (Ron) Britt, Kelly Clarkin (Doug Richards), her grandchildren, her great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many friends.

She is preceded in death by her sisters Ruth and Anne and her brother Henry.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday February 25, 2023 at 10:00 am at Bonhomme Presbyterian Church, 14820 Conway Road, Chesterfield, MO.

The family requests that no flowers or plants be sent and that in lieu of flowers a memorial donation may be given to Autism Speaks St. Louis, 9200 Olive Blvd., Suite 202, St. Louis, Mo 63132.

The family wishes to thank Julie Madinger, RN and all other Nurses dedicated to working in hospice care. Julie’s professionalism and her care for Jan exceeded all expectations.
