James M. Chapman

James (Jim) M. Chapman, 76, of Wheatland, MO passed away October 23, 2023, with his beloved family by his side.

Jim was born December 23, 1946, in St. Louis, MO to parents Wilbur and Dorothy, graduated from McClure High School, he continued to Washington University where he received his Bachelor of Science in Engineering.  His career spanned over 50 years as an Engineer specializing in Tool and Die Manufacturing.  He was a member of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers.  During his career he influenced several patents and was a positive impact on others as a leader, mentor, and friend.

Jim leaves a legacy that is full of family traditions, nature, camping, boating, adventures, dogs, jeeps, country roads, John Denver, Fleetwood Mac, Bob Seager, John Wayne and singing Proud Mary.

Jim and wife Debbie committed their love to each other in 2004.  Their commitment of love included uniting their blended families as one.  Together their family includes seven children: Jill (Matt) Weber, Jamee (Jerry) Czerniewski, Aschleah (Mark) Wildt, Amber Wright, Steve Chapman, Annie (Alex) Alameda, Nick (Jayme) Chapman, and eighteen grandchildren Chad (Krystal) Weber, Casey Weber, Cayla (Nick) Weber, Jesse (Brooke) Czerniewski, Jake Czerniewski, Taylor (Austin) Erb, Lizzy Sontag, Josh Czerniewski, Cailey Chapman, Alex Wildt, Kara Wildt, Audrey Wildt, Tyler Door, Zach Door, Sophia Door, Addie Alameda, Ash Alameda, CJ Chapman and six great grandsons: Easton Weber, Sage Weber, Sutton Weber, Ronin Weber, Teddy Czerniewski, Stetson Weber

A Celebration of Life will be held on November 5th from 11:00 – 4:00 at The Barn at Matson Hill Park in Defiance, MO.  All who knew Jim are welcome to come share stories, adventures, and memories.

In lieu of flowers, they are asking for donations to support Mayo Clinic LVAD research or Missouri State Parks.
