Gloria Jean (Lewandowski) Glossup

d. January 12, 2022

Gloria J. (Lewandowski) Glossup, 81, of St. Peters, MO, was called home and reunited with her parents on Wednesday, January 12, 2022. Gloria was the loving wife of Ronald Glossup for 35 years; beautiful daughter of the late John and Jean Lewandowski; dear sister to John (Susan) Lewandowski; sister-in-law to Linda Boyd Thompson; very special and extremely loved mother to Monica Short, Renee (Brian) Koeneman, and Jeanne (Jason) Besselman, wonderful bonus mother to Randy (Carrie) Glossup, Brandi Glossup Hicks, and Tammy (Tim) Chapman, fun-loving and proud grandmother to the late Blake Poindexter, Nathan Poindexter, Ryan Glossup, Jake Glossup, Savannah Glossup, Tylan Cathey, Dawson Besselman, Kayla Koeneman, and Devan (Claudia Buckles) Koeneman, great grandmother to Natalie and Kenzie Poindexter, Mila Koeneman, and Jonah Koeneman.

Gloria was born in St. Louis, MO in 1940. She was a beautiful ballerina growing up and graduated from Normandy High School in 1958. She quickly met her first husband, James Short, and had her three daughters. After staying home for many years to raise her girls, she went to work at several large companies in St. Louis, MO. During her working years, she met her current husband and they were married for 35 years. Gloria retired at age 65 to compassionately take care of her mother during her final days. Gloria cherished her parents deeply and missed them tremendously.

Gloria never met a stranger. She was easy to talk to, a great listener, and always positive. She loved to dance, shop, and play solitaire on the computer. The memories of shopping at Famous Barr on Saturdays with her mother will never be forgotten. She was known for “as seen on TV” purchases and other random items which made for great conversation. Gloria was a great sport, loved to laugh and spend time with family. She loved her kids and grandkids dearly and would do anything for them. She adored animals, especially dogs, and always had a fur-baby to love. She was an amazing person and will be tremendously missed by so many family and
friends.

“She is far more precious than jewels” Proverbs 31:10

In memory of Gloria’s kind and giving heart, she would love for any donations to be made to: National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) (nami.org) or the animal rescue of your choice.
