Meadows, Ginger (Virginia Jean Avery), 73, of Winfield, MO passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 27, 2021 in her daughter’s home in Winfield, MO. She was born to Oscar and Beverley Avery, St. Louis, and graduated from Roosevelt High School. Ginger spent her professional career workings as a secretary.
She was known as a generous, kind, and compassionate person, who loved Cardinal baseball and Pepsi. She was the best party planner and loved cooking for everyone. Ginger adored her grandchildren, especially her great-grandchildren.
Ginger is survived by her loving daughter, Linda (Floyd Jr.) McPherson; grandchildren, Philip (Ivana) Potter, and Lisa (Jacob) Platt; great-grandchildren, Gemma, Dawson, Brantley, Hank, Baby Waylon-to-be; many nieces and nephews; and siblings, Katherine (George) Ulicine, Andrea (James) Peterson. She is preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Beverley Avery, and siblings, Lucy, James, Elizabeth, and Johnnie.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Ethyl’s Smokehouse and Saloon, at 1:00pm on Sunday, August 22, 2021. Located at 8505 Veterans Memorial Parkway, O’Fallon, MO 63366. Please join us and wear your Cardinal attire in honor of Ginger and her love of Cardinal Baseball.
