Frances Ellen Hanneken (nee Rickert)

Fran Hanneken, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 09, 2026, at the age of 90.

Fran was born in St. Louis, Missouri, on The Hill and attended Southwest High School. She married the love of her life, Richard “Rich” Hanneken, on May 15, 1954. Together, they shared 72 years of marriage and built a loving family.

Fran was a devoted stay-at-home mother for many years, dedicating herself to raising her five children and caring for her family. Later in life, she went into the workforce as a bookkeeper at Dick’s Radio and TV.

Fran was preceded in death by her parents, Henry Rickert and Nellie Capone; and her sisters, Betty Rickert and Georgia Leonard.

Fran chose to donate her body to Saint Louis University in the hope of contributing to the education and advancement of others.

A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church on Saturday, October 3rd, 2026. Welcome beginning 9am, Mass at 10am.

A luncheon will served in the church basement immediately after.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to their caretaker, Lisa Loeffler, who lovingly cared for Fran the past 4 years and the wonderful staff of SSM Hospice, who cared for her and supported the family in their home during the past two months.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, #2 Seton Court, St. Charles, MO 63303.

Fran’s greatest legacy is the family she loved and the many lives she touched. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
