On January 10, 2026, the world lost a true legend. Dennis “Mickey” Michael Lada, born August 6, 1956, was a man whose heart was as open as his front door. To Mickey, no one was a stranger, and everyone was welcome. A lifelong gearhead, Mickey’s passion for cars was a defining part of his life. If he wasn't under a hood getting his hands greasy, he could be found admiring the classics at car shows, flipping through the latest magazines, or falling down a YouTube rabbit hole of restoration videos. But as much as he loved a fast engine, he loved his family more. Whether he was playing with his great-grandchildren or enjoying a day at the lake with his wonderful wife, Rose, and their friends, Mickey lived life to the fullest. He was the family’s resident comedian, teaching his grandchildren the value of kindness, that you’re never alone, family is everything, and the necessity of a good laugh. He also ensured that no meal was complete without a generous helping of Marie Callender’s Cheesy Potatoes. Mickey’s legacy lives on in his "ornery ways," his witty humor, and the kindness he showed to everyone he met. He is survived by his beloved wife, Rose; his children, Michael, Hope (Rob), and Brian (Brandy); his grandchildren, Miranda (Brendan), Cameron, Madison (Nicholas), Michaela, and Jaiden; his great-grandchildren, Ethan, Elijah, Ronan, Malcolm, and Archer; his brother Kenny (Michelle) Lada. Mickey was a great uncle, cousin, nephew, godfather, brother in law, and friend to all. He is preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Virginia Lada and his brother, Steven Lada. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2026 from 1pm-5pm at South Broadway Athletic Club (2301 South 7th Street, St. Louis, MO 63104). Please stop by and share some of your fondest memories with family and friends.
