Craig B. Handiboe

d. July 28, 2019

Craig Bowman “Beau” Handiboe ended his journey on this earth on Sunday July 28th 2019.  He was at home with his wife, Gloria, when his body could no longer fight the cancer.

Craig was born April 6, 1948, in Harrisburg PA to Christian Bowman & Margaret Jean Shearer Handiboe.  He grew up in Harrisburg and graduated from Central Dauphin High School in 1965.  In High School, he met Gloria Lee Minton.

Craig enlisted with the US Air Force and served during the Vietnam War as an airplane mechanic.  After his discharge from the service, he became reacquainted with Gloria, who he married October 26, 1972.

Together, Craig & Gloria raised four children, Lora, Michael, Christine, and Charlene.  They journeyed from Pennsylvania to Wyoming to Arkansas and Oklahoma, and finally to Bridgeton MO.

Craig excelled at being a jack-of-all trades, working in varied industries ranging from food service to real estate to construction to automotive and almost everything in between.

As a voracious reader and aid movie watcher, Craig was a life long learner.  In his last independent years, he picked up woodworking, ham radio, and coin collecting.

He was involved in supporting Veteran organizations, the Boy Scouts of America, and the Boys & Girls Clubs of America.

Craig is survived by his wife of 46 years and 9 months, Gloria; his daughter and son in law, Lora and Gaylon White, of Fort Worth TX; his son and daughter in law, Michael and Mary Handiboe, of Lawrenceburg KY; his daughter and son in law, Christine and Shawn Taylor, of Bridgeton MO; his daughter and son in law, Charlene and David Birky, of Adair OK; his grandchildren:  Brittany & David Medford, Jessica & Nathan Warren, Daelyn White, Natasha White, Christopher Cook, Zachary Handiboe, Jonathan Handiboe, Madison Birky, Abigail Birky, and Dawson Birky; and a great grandchild, Evelyn.
