Bissell, Betty Louise (nee: Tungate), 91, of St. Louis, MO, died on May 1, 2026.

Betty was born in St. Louis, MO and graduated from Berkely High School.

Betty was married to Daniel Bissell and together they raised one child, Rebecca Kimberly Leonard (nee: Tungate).

Betty worked at Peace Haven Association for many years as a Christian Science nurse and continued to live in service to her community as a caretaker throughout her life. Betty’s greatest contribution to this world was the empathy and care that she extended to all. She will be remembered not just as a beauty queen, but for her exceptional wit, unfaltering love for her family, and her service to the Lord.

Betty is survived by her child, Kim (Mike) Leonard; her dear grandchildren, Daniel, Katherine, and Skylar; her amazing great grandchildren, Denver, Elaine, and William; and her sisters Barb Brockmeyer and Gwendolyn Shields.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Bissell, parents, Henry and Margaret Tungate, and brothers Nick and Mike Tungate.

A private memorial service will be held in her honor.
