Behan, Arthur “Art”, 83, of O’Fallon, MO, died on September 17, 2026.
Art was born in St. Louis, MO and graduated from DeAndreis High School, he then served four years in the U.S. Army.
Art married Patricia Behan on September 10, 1966. They were married for 48 years.
Art worked as a Lead Operator for Mallincrokdt Chemical for 40 years before retiring to spend time with his wife and grandchildren. Art was an avid St. Louis history and firefighter enthusiast as well as a Pepsi memorabilia collector. He made friends wherever he went, told stories that could keep a room captivated, and had a way of making people feel welcome and valued.
Art is survived by his son, Chris (Tracie); grandson Bryce and his wife Mayo; granddaughter Erin; great-grandson Bryson; extended family and countless friends who felt like family to him.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Patricia, parents, Albert and Ruth Behan, brother Richard Behan, sister, Ann Behan, and brother Raymond (Connie) Behan.
A celebration of life will be held in early October at Stone Bridge Community Church, Dardenne Prairie, MO. Private burial at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation or the Firefighters Charitable Foundation. The Art Behan family wishes to thank the wonderful staff at BJC Hospice and Assistance Home Care for their dedication and compassionate care over these past weeks.
Art will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his family, friends, and all who shared in the conversations, laughter, and memories that made him so special.
