Andrew T. Steinmann

A bright light was dimmed the morning of April 15, 2023, with the unexpected passing of Andrew Tyler Steinmann. Dimmed, but not darkened, as those who were fortunate enough to have Andrew in their lives will long remember the warmth of his embrace, and forever carry in their hearts the memory of his smile, wit, laughter, generosity, and fierce loyalty.

Andrew was born to Pat and Markus Steinmann on July 17, 1996, in St. Louis, MO. Rooted in love of family, his first tattoos were four bands around his left forearm: one band for each of his parents and two siblings. That love of family extended to his friends, as Andrew lived the phrase “friends are the family you choose”.

We are grateful for the 26 years we had with Andrew, watching him grow from a smiling little boy into a confident young man who lived his life fully. He enjoyed softball, fantasy football, fishing, hiking, kayaking, walking with his dog Zeus, bonfires, mini golf, receiving kitchen appliances at Christmas, and any time he could spend with friends. Andrew started his own contracting business, incorporating as Shepherd Contracting LLC in July 2021. His business approach was founded on a deep sense of integrity and his personal pride of craftsmanship.

As his parents, we could not have been more proud of the man he had become.

We will miss watching and being with Andrew as he would have continued to build and live his life:

§ growing his business

§ getting married

§ becoming a father and uncle

§ being the Flower Dude at Chris and Paige’s wedding

§ going bald…

Andrew is predeceased by his maternal grandfather, Bill Vaughan and his paternal grandparents Jutta and Herbert Steinmann. Left to cherish his memory are his grandmother Mary Vaughan, his parents Markus and Pat Steinmann, his brother Chris and Chris’ fiancé Paige Allison, his sister Hannah, his girlfriend Hanna Vineyard, his beloved companion Zeus, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and many close friends who were as dear to him as family.

We invite all to post messages and memories, pictures, and videos on this site (with a gentle reminder to the social-media generation that all will be visible to his Nana…).

We will hold an informal gathering to celebrate Andrew’s life at the Tremayne pavilion at Creve Coeur Lake Park on Tuesday, May 16 from 5:00 – 7:30.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Longmeadow Rescue Ranch, a branch of the Humane Society of Missouri, at https://longmeadowrescueranch.org
